Bed & Breakfast and Restaurant in Baztan
La Posada de Elbete was built by means of auzolan, joint community work, in 1804. Historically, each village in the Baztan Valley had a posada, a meeting place to socialize or interact, where important decisions regarding the village were made. However, at the same time, it was also a farmhouse with stables on the ground floor, living quarters and accommodation on the first floor and a sabaia, or attic, where food was stored for the household and the livestock.
Nowadays, and following renovations in 2002 which maintained the original rock and woodwork, the Posada is a small bed and breakfast located in the rural area of Elbete (only a few meters away from Elizondo), in the Baztan Valley.
Updating it to modern times, but without forgetting its past, the Posada is what it has always been: a place to rest and relax, eat well and return to our origins, respecting our roots and customs. It is a place of history and nature where you are welcome.
On the first floor we have 6 rooms, each with its own bathroom and heating, as well as a shared living room and free WiFi connection.
On the ground floor is the bar and restaurant, where you can savor a hearty breakfast prepared with natural homemade products and where the best seasonal cuisine can be enjoyed.

Our Bar/Restaurant is on the ground floor. What were once stables have now been converted to a dining area with a fireplace, where you will enjoy authentic traditional cuisine. There is also a small room off to the side, which was once a chicken coop, where you can enjoy a good book and a delicious meal.
